Editorial Policy
Editorial policy
Editorial policy :
The Zone of Asia is an independent newsroom built on truth, integrity, and fearless journalism, bringing authentic stories and insights that define our changing world with clarity and depth. We empower readers with facts that matter and voices that inspire change, shaping a more informed global perspective.
• Independence and conflicts of interest :
We keep editorial decisions separate from commercial, political, or personal interests. Advertising, sponsored content, paid partnerships and commercial relationships are managed so they do not influence newsroom judgment. Any paid or sponsored material is labelled clearly. Staff must disclose potential conflicts of interest and recuse themselves when necessary.
• Accuracy & Verification (how we report) :
We verify facts before publication. Reporters check documents, seek independent corroboration where possible, and give sources a fair opportunity to respond to significant allegations. Editors sign off on publication only after assessing sourcing and verification. Where material is uncertain, we label it as such and explain limitations to readers. These are basic newsroom practices echoed across leading outlets and industry ethics guides.
• Corrections, clarifications and accountability :
If we find incorrect information, we are committed to correcting it promptly and transparently. Corrections will clearly explain what was updated and why.
We value accuracy and accountability, and encourage readers to contact us if they believe an error has occurred. All genuine concerns are reviewed internally and addressed where appropriate.
• Contributor and user-generated content (tips, submissions) :
At present, Zone of Asia does not accept guest posts or externally contributed articles. All content is produced, reviewed, and published by our Editorial Desk, which holds full editorial responsibility.
If we choose to allow guest contributions in the future, this policy will be updated, and all such content will be subject to the same editorial standards and verification processes.
• Advertising, sponsored content & labelling :
We label advertising and sponsored material clearly so readers can distinguish commercial content from independent journalism. Sponsored content that looks like editorial must be visually and textually identified and adhere to minimum editorial quality standards. Editorial independence must be preserved in all commercial agreements.
• Social media, staff conduct and transparency :
Staff must avoid public actions or statements that could reasonably call into question their impartiality. Social media use by reporters and editors should be responsible and in line with our code of conduct. When an employee’s conduct undermines editorial standards, the newsroom may take disciplinary action. We aim to explain editorial choices and to respond to reasonable queries from readers.
• Corrections & complaints process (how readers reach us) :
If you think we have made an error or have concerns about our coverage, please contact us at:
support@zoneofasia.com
Give as much detail as possible; we will log the complaint, investigate and reply. If a correction is required we will publish it linked to the original story.
• Copyright and Reuse :
Our policy is very strict regarding copyright matters. Our content is protected by copyright. Readers and third parties may share or quote short extracts with attribution; bulk reuse requires permission. We respect third-party copyright and expect the same from contributors and users.
• Training, oversight and regular review :
We provide regular editorial training for reporters and editors on verification, legal risks, and ethical standards. Our editorial policy is reviewed periodically to reflect legal requirements, lessons from mistakes and changes in industry best practice. Public editorial reviews may be commissioned if significant editorial failures occur.
• Quick summary (readers’ checklist) :
· We verify before we publish.
· We label opinion and sponsored content clearly.
· We correct mistakes quickly and transparently.
· We protect sources when required and manage sensitive sourcing responsibly.
