Kraken launched new crypto debit card

Crypto exchange Kraken has launched a new debit card that allows UK and European customers spend their cryptocurrency and cash directly. The card, called the Kraken Card, now works across the United Kingdom and Europe.

The card runs on the Mastercard network. This means customers can use it almost anywhere that takes regular bank cards. When someone buys something with the Kraken Card, the company converts the crypto into the right local currency on the spot.

The card supports more than 600 different cryptocurrencies and regular currencies. Customers can use money from multiple account balances to pay for a single purchase. For example, a person can pay for something using a mix of Bitcoin and regular money at the same time.

One of the biggest selling points is the fee setup. Kraken says the card does not charge any transaction fees or ATM fees. People can withdraw cash for free, but the cash machine itself might still charge its own fees.

On top of that, Kraken offers up to two percent cashback on every purchase. The company pays this cashback every week. Customers choose to receive their rewards in Bitcoin, euros, or British pounds.

Customers can order a physical card or a virtual card. Both work through the Kraken app. Once someone gets the card, they can manage everything including transaction history, cashback settings, and balance management, inside a single app called the Krak money app. Customers use the same login details they already have for their main Kraken account.

Kraken said this card is part of a bigger plan to grow beyond just trading crypto. The company wants to become a full financial platform where people can earn, save, invest, trade, and spend, all in one place.

Kamo Asatryan, chief data officer ate payward(kraken) explained the plan behind this launch. He said customers should not have to worry about “where their money is sitting” before spending it. He explained that the Kraken Card brings everything together into one clean experience.

Kraken already allows users in the UK and Europe to earn, save, invest, and trade on its platform. The card now supports everyday spending. The company said it plans to add more features to the card over time as it grow its consumer products lineup.

Kraken also confirmed that it plans to bring the card to the United States at some point in the future, though it has not set a date for that launch yet.

The Kraken Card enters a competitive market. Companies like Coinbase and Revolut already offer crypto-linked debit cards in Europe. Kraken hopes its wide range of supported currencies, the zero-fee structure, and the weekly cashback rewards will help it stand out.

Crypto spending cards are growing fast. More people want ways to use digital money for everyday purchases without moving it to a bank. Kraken built this card to solve that exact problem, giving customers a simpler path from holding crypto to spending it anywhere.
